We urgently need your help!

The 2022 CITES pernambuco decision was not permanent. CITES listed specific actions requiring a concerted effort by the entire musical community. Our progress will be reviewed and a decision will be made in 2 years. The future use of pernambuco for professional bow making depends on shops, makers, and musicians working together to support conservation.

The Alliance is focusing on:

  • Educating musicians about the need for conservation
  • Increasing funding for scientific research and reforestation (specified musician involvement)
  • Assisting musicians and shops in authenticating the materials used in bows

Give each customer a sticker and encourage them to display it prominently. Every musician needs to know that this danger is real and that we need to unite for the future of pernambuco. Shops, each month count up your invoices and donate $1 (or local equivalent) per invoice to the Alliance. We are tracking every sticker to show our collective commitment.
